The aim of the project is to promote the understanding of people with disabilities about their human rights by providing knowledge about the support available in case of discrimination.

Latvian people with disabilities are not aware of their rights and hesitate when it comes to standing up for them. People and organizations that represent them lack the knowledge and skills to act in cases of human rights abuses. The attitude of society serves as a hindering factor as well. Therefore, the project will monitor public attitudes towards the rights of people with disabilities. In addition, people will be trained to recognize violations of their rights and to seek the help they need in such cases. Representatives of disabled people's organizations will be trained to provide additional support to these people. Moreover, a website will be created to inform the society  about the rights of people with disabilities.

The project will be implemented throughout the territory of Latvia. Therefore, project related information will be available to a wide audience on national, regional, and local levels.
